Duraković is also a founder and Medical Research Director of the Toronto-based Uranium Medical Research Centre. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Croatian Medical Journal and also a contributor.
Duraković also founded the World Life Institute, an international non-profit humanitarian organization based in Orleans County, New York.
Dr. Asaf Durakovic was Awarded International Peace Prize (2004): The prize was awarded for the work on the issues of radioactive warfare, depleted uranium, and medical and environmental effects of nuclear weapons on the human habitat and biosphere. The prize is sponsored by over 134 nations.
